Audi A6 international launch

The eighth generation Audi A6 Sedan has been unveiled to the international motoring press in Portugal and hasn’t failed to impress with its performance, luxury accommodation and raft of cutting-edge automotive technology.

Sharp new styling and increased interior room are seamlessly blended with state-of-the-art automotive technology with a choice of powerful and efficient TDI and petrol powerplants, all with an innovative 48 volt mild hybrid electrified drivetrain that provides up to 0.7 litres per 100km in fuel savings. Add to that  the most modern operating system in its class – Audi’s MMI touch response system – and a raft of driver assistance and safety systems, seamless luxury interior and extraordinary ride quality, and the new A6 Sedan eclipses all expectation.

Indeed the interior architecture breaks new ground for Audi, with its large touch screens seamlessly integrated so as to become part of the design, and allowing the driver to control most vehicle and infotainment functions at the touch of a screen. Haptic feedback adds another dimension, giving a tangible response when a function is selected, adding to the overall effect and user experience.

Cameron Kirby from Wheels, likewise praised the A6’s driving dynamics, saying “Audi has built an A6 which is just as comfortable crushing kilometres as it is carving mountain roads,” while Feann Torr of carsales.com.au also praised the A6’s handling, saying, “The way it sticks to the road through corners is extraordinary considering its significant size (4939mm long) and weight (from 1825kg) … yet for all its hustle the new Audi A6 is quieter, more refined and smoother. Fitted with adaptive dampers and air suspension, the car glides along as if were a mag-lev luxo-barge.”
