All-new A4 collects more international awards.
3 February, 2016
Due to makes its official debut Down Under this month, the all-new Audi A4 continues to impress throughout Europe, winning more awards in Germany and in the UK.
Last year, Auto Bild magazine and Bild am Sonntag newspaper together with an international panel of experts awarded the A4 a coveted Golden Steering award, and in 2016, the accolades keep coming.
Most recently the A4 was voted Best mid-sized car in the annual auto motor und sport magazine Best Cars polls, joining its siblings the Audi A1 and new Audi Q7 which won Best small car and Best Large SUV respectively.
Celebrating its 40th year, this reader poll is one of the most important in Germany and this year saw more than 115,000 readers of the magazine vote for 364 models across 11 categories. In each category, readers selected an overall winner and a top import, with the A4 completely dominating the very competitive mid-sized class.
This latest award comes only two weeks after the Audi A4 swept the pool and took Britain’s top automotive award, winning its class and outright honours in the coveted What Car magazine Car of the Year awards.
Considered the UK’s most influential car magazine, the What Car awards looked at candidates from 19 categories, with the A4 3.0 TDI winning the mid-sized category before going on to be named the overall Car of the Year.
The panel of judges were impressed with the A4’s economy, technology and superior ride, calling it ’one of the most impressive cars we have recently driven’.
They went on to say ‘it is roughly as efficient as the smaller 2.0 TDI four-cylinder – on paper and in actual traffic. The Audi A4 offers whisper-quiet driving characteristics that would put some luxury sedans to shame. Simply put, it feels more like a small Audi A8 than like a competitor from its class’.
