The new Audi Q7 SUV, released only a matter of months ago in Australia has continued to impress, receiving outstanding reviews from the motoring media as well as tremendous success with Australian customers.

In addition, the Q7 recently received the highest praise from the country’s vehicle testing body ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program), receiving the maximum five-star rating for its outstanding active and passive safety systems.

In addition, the Audi Q7 was unanimously voted ‘Best Luxury SUV’ by the panel of drive.com.au judges in their annual Car of the Year awards.

Commenting on the the Q7’s superior safety systems and its top ANCAP safety ranking, ANCAP CEO James Goodwin said:

“The Q7 offers an impressive list of standard features including an Autonomous Emergency Braking function which operates at both low and high speeds, and it is also fitted with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping systems.”

The new Q7 represents the most technically advanced vehicle Audi has produced to date, and its unmatched level of safety is an integral part of that impressive package. In addition to these leading-edge safety features singled out by Mr Goodwin, the Q7 also boasts an impressive line-up of driver assistance systems including many not offered by other manufacturers, such as the Exit Warning, which warns occupants waiting to alight of the approach of other vehicles or cyclists before they open their door.

The Q7’s outstanding safety and driver systems were also recognised by Drive’s panel of six judges when they unanimously voted it ‘Best Luxury SUV’. Up against a particularly strong opposition field, the Q7 dominated, with writer David McCowen explaining the judges’ decision:

“The Q7's appeal was anchored by a new interior featuring the brand's fully digital 'virtual cockpit' setup, along with a new laptop-style touchpad controller and a generally superior level of fit and finish to its rivals. Modern driver aids, the most comfortable ride in its class and an electric folding function for its third row of seats helped the Q7 win points.”

Understandably pleased with these two further endorsements of the Q7, Andrew Doyle, Managing Director of Audi Australia said:

“These awards prove what an outstanding vehicle the all-new Audi Q7 is, especially in terms of safety technology.

“The all-new Q7 really is bold step forward for Audi, in terms of the infotainment features and the technology that we are offering in this segment. Engineers went to great lengths to ensure that the all-new Q7 is one of the safest vehicles on the road, and we are delighted that their efforts have been validated by ANCAP.

“We are delighted that the Drive.com.au judges recognise the all-round excellence of the all-new Audi Q7, especially when measured against some very worthy rivals in the luxury SUV segment. This only serves to reinforce the significance of the Q7’s accolade,” said Mr Doyle.
