Only a matter of days out from Christmas and two motorsport teams are already celebrating with what could be considered a very special, early Christmas present. Cadspeed-Racing and Speed Factory Racing Team have become the first two teams to take delivery of their new TCR touring cars – the mighty new Audi RS 3 LMS.

Stephan Winkelmann, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH, and Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing, handed over the cars at the Audi Sport facility at Neuburg, both cars are scheduled to see action as early as next month in the Dubai 24 hour race.

“Following successful development and testing, production of the RS 3 LMS was launched at the end of November,” says Chris Reinke. “The delivery of the first cars to customer teams is a special moment for this project that is still young. We are delighted about the great demand and already very excited about the first races of the RS 3 LMS in the customer’s hand.”

The RS 3 LMS joins the hugely successful Audi R8 LMS GT3 within the ranks of the Audi customer sport program, allowing even more customers to participate in top level motor racing around the globe.

Powered by a 2.0-litre TFSI engine generating 243kW, the RS 3 LMS is available from Audi Sport GmbH as a TCR variant with a sequential six-speed racing transmission, a variant with an S ironic direct-shift transmission and a club sport version of the car.

The RS 3 LMS car is the racing sibling of the eagerly anticipated Audi RS 3 Sedan which was unveiled in Paris this year and will arrive in Australia in late 2017.
