Audi again the most successful brand at the ‘Connected Car’ awards, with the Audi e-tron quattro concept taking home the award in the ‘New Mobility' category.

For the third year running, Audi has completely dominated the Connected Car Awards organised by the respected German Magazines Auto Bild and Computer Bild

Winning five of the nine categories (one more than in 2013 and 2014), Audi was again the most successful brand with its leading edge automotive technology, the Audi e-tron quattro concept singled out for its compelling combination of technologies and electric drive system, winning the ‘New Mobility’ category.

But it was not just the ground-breaking e-tron quttro concept that impressed, with the brand also taking top honours in the competition for its extensive work in Navigation, Internet Integration, Multimedia/Entertainment and phone categories.

In navigation, Audi has long been a pioneer and pushed the boundaries, and it was the company’s integration of Google services that most impressed and proved victorious in the Navigation category this year.

The LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, which offers fast data transfer between up to eight devices, was recognised  by the judging panel and subsequently voted on by readers in the ‘Internet Integration’ class, while the  Audi phone box, which connects mobile phones and the use of wireless charging that took first place in the ‘Telephone’ category.

Not surprisingly, the ‘Multimedia/Entertainment’ category went to the 3D sound of the Bang & Olufsen sound system, which quite literally redefines the way music or indeed any sound source is played within a vehicle. This incredible technology (currently available as an option on the new Audi Q7 in Australia), must be heard to be believed.

“After our four first-place wins in 2014, being able to take home first place in one additional category this year makes us more proud than ever. This is a reward for the hard work of the entire Audi team and motivates us for the future. We are also working to tackle many milestones next year on the road to connected mobility and to continuously improving road safety,” said Ricky Hudi, Executive Vice President Electronic Development.

Trophies for Connected Car Award winners will be presented during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2016 in Las Vegas.
