The Audi A8 has been named ‘World Luxury Car 2018’.

Audi has won its ninth ‘World Car’ award, this time with the A8 named ‘World Luxury Car 2018’ in New York overnight.

Audi has built on a long and proud tradition with the World Car awards, with the new Audi A8 being named ‘World Luxury Car 2018’ in New York.

This is the ninth time Audi has been honoured by the World Car awards, taking out numerous World Performance Car and World Car of the Year with models like the Audi R8 and Audi A3 (see below).

The prestigious awards are voted on by a total of 82 jury members from 24 countries, who assessed not only the emotional appeal, passenger comfort and safety, but also environment aspects as well as driving performance, market relevance and price-performance ratio.

The Audi A8 is being built at the Neckarsulm site and boasts a raft of new automotive technology that once again sets the standard for luxury vehicles world wide, just as previous Audi A8 models have done. Amongst its many outstanding features, the new Audi A8 features HD Matrix LED headlights with Audi laser light for the first time, dynamic all-wheel steering and the relaxation rear seat package with foot massage. 

The original Audi A8, first shown in 1994, featured revolutionary aluminium Audi Space Frame (ASF), and this new model likewise debuts new technology, including the capacity for Level 3 autonomous driving and a wealth of ground-breaking safety innovations.

The new Audi A8 is due to arrive in Australia later this year.
