Who better than Lucas di Grassi, the most successful driver in the Formula E Championship, to put the first all-electric Audi Sport RS model through its paces.

The RS e-tron GT represents a new era for high-performance motoring in general and for the Audi Sport brand in particular. A luxurious, four-door grand tourer, it accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in under 3.5 seconds, putting it comfortably in supercar territory in terms of its performance. Thenthere’s the razor-sharp handling thanks to its low centre of gravity, all-wheel steering and electric quattro all-wheel drive, giving extraordinary agility and delivering a driving experience to satisfy even the most demanding of drivers.

Enter Lucas di Grassi. An Audi Sport world driver who has competed for the brand at the very highest levels, including the 24 hours of Le Mans, di Grassi is currently a leading light in the FIA Formula E Championship, having competed in the all-electric formula since its inception in 2014. Indeed, di Grassi not only won the inaugural Formula E race (in Beijing), but has gone on to compete in 69 races in the first six seasons of the Formula, achieving 32 podium finishes and amassing a record 796 points.

In 2017 di Grassi won the Formula E drivers’ championship and has consistently threatened every time he takes to the track.

Given his credentials then, there is no one better qualified to get behind the wheel of the first electric RS model and give his thoughts on a machine that, like all performance Audi model before it, owes a great deal of its development to motorsport – in this case, electric motorsport.
