While accidents marred this year’s Bathurst 12 Hour race for many of the Audi teams, two Audi Sport customer racing teams had reason to smile at the end of a tough day. Car #3 with Daniel Gaunt, Matt Halliday and Ash Samadi sharing the driving duties and the #9 car of Marc Cini, Dean Fiore and Lee Holdsworth both recorded podium finishes in the Pro-Am class after recording strong performances all day.
Car #3 achieved second place in class and seventh overall while #9 rounded out the podium in class and ninth overall.

Just outside the top 10, car #44 of Simon Evans, James Koundouris, Theo Koundouris and Marcus Marshall climbed steadily through the field all day to finish in 11th.
“Sincere congratulations to our customers on their success in class and the distance covered,” said Chris Reinke, Head of Audi Sport customer racing. “Many major teams suffered severe setbacks today, but our privateer campaigners showed what they are capable of with the Audi R8 LMS.”

Now the Audi Sport customer teams turn their attention the beginning of the new season, with Adelaide just around the corner. Audi has traditionally produced strong performances in the Australian GT Championship having won two titles with the Audi R8 LMS in the past.
