The all-new RS 5 is perhaps the most eagerly anticipated model from the brand in a long time. Taking the new A5 design as its basis and applying the famed RS treatment means more than just enlarged guards, although that certainly forms part of the the overall design. The RS 5 draws heavily on the brand’s motorsport past as Audi exterior designer, Wolf Seebers describes as he goes over the design rationale for the new generation of RS vehicle.

The Audi RS 5 of the past has always been a popular model not least for its aggressive styling, so the new model has a lot to live up to. In the coupe configuration the new model leans heavily towards the previous RS 5 models, while the RS 4 influence is more evident in the Avant configuration.

Regardless of the model, the influence of motorsport and the inherent performance orientation of this model is of paramount importance and these new models more than live up to expectation.
