Audi Australia has announced its newest brand ambassador, welcoming celebrated interior designer Darren Palmer into the elite group.

Darren’s work is well known around the country, his innovative designs and eye for detail coming to greater prominence through the hugely successful TV show The Block.

Darren becomes Audi’s first design ambassador, a particularly fitting area of expertise given the brand’s strong design ethos throughout its history. in his first collaboration with Audi Australia, Darren was given the considerable task of completely transforming a traditional corporate suite at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) into a fitting corporate space for Audi to host guests as part of its sponsorship of the Hawthorn Football Club.

The results are nothing short of stunning, the mammoth project which took over six months to complete setting a new benchmark and representing the most luxurious way to view sport in Australia.

Commenting on Darren’s appointment and work on the Audi suite, Audi Australia’s Managing Director, Andrew Doyle said:

Darren is known for testing the boundaries with his contemporary and stylish interior design, and he represents Audi’s progressive and sophisticated brand values very well through his work.

“We are extremely happy with the result of our first collaboration, he said. “The Audi Suite at the MCG is a sophisticated space which functions well for numerous types of events which will be held there. Darren has taken our brief and transformed the space into the ideal showpiece for our innovative brand.”

For his part, Darren is very happy with the results of the project, the long-time Audi devotee saying it was a chance to create a space drawing on the design elements that are central to the brand.

“I was thrilled to take on the redevelopment project, as it was an opportunity to conceptualise all the design aspects I have come to know and love about Audi and create a functional space unlike any corporate venue at a sporting space in Australia,” Darren said of the Audi Suite.

Certainly the Audi Suite is something of a baptism of fire to kick off his role as an Audi Ambassador, and in his ongoing role Darren will share his tremendous expertise with Audi customers hosting exclusive design master-classes and intimate dinners as part of the Audi Lifestyle Experience program.

The Audi Ambassador program is made up of a distinguished group of outstanding individuals from a range of fields and professions, all sharing a commitment to excellence and a desire to push the boundaries in their particular area of expertise. Boasting such names from the culinary world as Kylie Kwong and Guillaume Brahimi and athletes, surfing great Mick Fanning and Olympian Mat Belcher and actor Chris Hemsworth to name just a few, Darren is in good company and will bring his own expertise to the mix.
