Although international travel is now back on the cards for many, motoring enthusiasts will not have to travel to Ingolstadt every time they want to tour the brand’s extensive collection of historic vehicles.

The Audi Tradition App (available for download from the App Store) was launched this year to celebrate the NSU brand’s history with a special exhibition called ‘Der fünfte Ring’ – The fifth ring – which will run until September 24, this year.

For those who are able to visit the Audi Museum (which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2020) in person, the app serves as a digital tour guide in the Audi museum mobile, providing visitors with in-depth content about the exhibited vehicles in written form and via an audio guide or even a 360-degree-panorama-view at selected models.

For those not able to make the trip in person, the app allows visitors to tour the exhibitions at any time and from anywhere in the world, enjoying historical photos and films, and in some cases even engine sounds to bring many these historic vehicles to life. Remote visitors will also be able to experience the 360-degree panoramic views and even climb into the interior of the vehicles – something that is not allowed on a physical trip to the museum.

In addition to the content associated with the exhibits in ‘The Fifth Ring’, the app also features additional multimedia content related to the show, such as a drone flight right through the exhibition. The app also provides information about exhibits that are permanently on display at the Audi museum mobile and offers access to the Audi Tradition shop those looking to buy accessories, literature, and even spare parts for Audi’s classic cars.

“I’m very pleased that we have a digital feature with our new Audi Tradition app. With it, we are not only making visits to the museum even more interactive and engaging through the use of multimedia, we are also making it possible to experience the exhibition digitally while out and about or simply from the comfort of your couch at home,” says Stefan Trauf, general manager of Auto Union GmbH.

“At the same time, we are, of course, hoping that the app will spark people’s interest in visiting the museum. Enjoying the exhibition with all your senses live on location is and will always be a truly special experience.”

The new Audi Tradition app can be downloaded from all major app stores for iOS and Android smartphones.
