The hugely successful Audi SQ5 range will once again offer enthusiasts the choice of petrol or diesel powerplants with the reintroduction of the V6 TFSI engine to the range. Producing 260kW of power and 500Nm of torque, the 3.0-litre V6 TFSI propels the mid-sized luxury SQ5 from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.9 seconds on the way to its electronically governed top speed of 250km/h. This powerplant returns by popular brand to a model lineup that has achieved legendary status since it was first introduced to Australia in 2013 and developed something of a cult following since then.

The TFSI powerplant will be offered in both the SQ5 SUV model ($119,084*) and the SQ5 Sportback TFSI ($124,315*), at the same price point as the perennially popular TDI versions, thanks to slight reductions due to reductions on the Luxury Car Tax (LCT).

In addition to the reintroduction of the TFSI variants, SQ5 customers can also now opt for the new Dynamic Black package, enhancing the vehicles’ already sporty design with a number of styling enhancements both inside and out.

Available for an additional $2500, the Dynamic Black package adds black exterior styling elements which sees the vehicle’s badging – including the four-ringed logo front and rear – finished in black as well as black wing mirrors caps and roof rails on the SUV models. Enormous 21-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels are also included, in a five-spoke V offset design and finished in black and these also house brake callipers in gloss black to continue the dark colour scheme.

Inside too the Dynamic Black packages adds carbon atlas inlays to the superb cabin design as well as a massage function for the front sport seats.

The reintroduction of the SQ5 TFSI and additional Dynamic Black package demonstrate the continued popularity of the SQ5 models and indeed the entire Q5 model family which now numbers 10 variants in Australia. This extensive offering includes the entry-level Q5 35 TDI with its front-wheel drive configuration and the versatile Q5 Sportback 55TSI e plug-in hybrid quattro S line models in both SUV and Sportback body styles – with all sharing the award-winning luxury appointment, latest technology and perfect dimensions that have endeared the Q5 range to customers since its launch. Once again, the SQ5 models represent the pinnacle of this hugely successful and popular range, adding extraordinary performance and handling to the equation.

The Audi Q5 range are available through the Audi National Dealer network, with the SQ5 TFSI arriving in early 2025.
