Audi Australia will expand its Q6 e-tron offering with the addition of three new variants arriving soon. Bringing its striking Sportback design to the impressive Q6 e-tron line-up, Audi will introduce both two-wheel drive and quattro versions to the mix as well as the range-topping SQ6 e-tron variant also with the distinctive coupe-inspired Sportback design language.

The new additions start with the rear-wheel drive Q6 Sportback e-tron from $99,900* with the quattro version from $127,500*. The SQ6 Sportback adds cutting-edge design to equally cutting-edge performance from $156,400* giving customers a significant offering in the segment from which to choose.

Like the Q6 e-tron SUV models launched earlier this year, the new Sportback models are built on the brand’s PPE (Premium Performance Electric) architecture, and deliver the same high standards of equipment and leading-edge automotive technology in Audi’s celebrated Sportback design. But in additional to their distinctive styling, the Sportback models also benefit from their slipperier shape, which affords them greater aerodynamic efficiency and a cd of 0.26. This equates to a range of up to 585 km (WLTP), which is the longest in the Q6 e-tron lineup in Australia.

In addition, with its advance 800-volt electrical system and sophisticated thermal management system, the Audi Q6 Sportback can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 21 minutes under ideal conditions, regardless of the battery size and drive configuration. This means that with its maximum charging power of up to 270kW, a quick 10-minute stop at a fast-charging station will be enough to add up to 265 kilometres of range.

“The extraordinary Audi Q6 e-tron becomes even sportier with the arrival of the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron range.” Says Audi Australia Q6 Product Manager, Peter Strudwicke.

“Featuring all the cutting-edge technology of the Q6 in a lower, sleeker package, the Q6 Sportback is destined to become another Audi success story.”

In addition to their Sportback design, this new models also feature the brand’s Audi’s MMI panoramic display with OLED technology, which combines the digital instrument cluster and central infotainment screen into a seamless curved unit. This system supports Audi smartphone interface, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as inductive phone charging which includes adaptive cooling to stop your phone overheating. This new interior architecture also features the front passenger display integrated into the dash design – a standard inclusion on the Q6 Sportback models.

With its single electric motor on the rear axle, the entry-model Q6 Sportback delivers 185kW of continuous power and 450Nm of toque, with its power output rising to 215kW with launch control engaged. In the real world, this means a 7.6 second spring from 0 to 100km/h or seven seconds flat using the launch control.

Standard specification is impressive with 19-inch alloy wheels, a full body colour paint finish and matrix LED headlights with configurable digital light signatures. Roof rails, standard on their SUV sibling, are optional on the Sportback model.

Inside, three-zone climate control ensures a perfectly moderated interior. Leather appointed upholstery provides a sumptuous feel, with the front sport seats heated as well as outer rear seats for maximum occupant comfort. Even the Muti-function steering wheel rim is heated for those cold morning starts.

The very latest automotive technology has been beautifully integrated into the interior design, with a 14.5-inch MMI touch display, 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit, and a the aforementioned 10.9-inch front passenger display all forming part of the new digital stage that is also now an integral feature of the A5 and Q5 ranges.

The Q6 Sportback also includes the e-tron sport sound system, providing adjustable acoustic feedback via Audi drive select, while a 64-litre front luggage compartment adds to the significant storage on offer. As with all variants, the vehicle is equipped with a second AC charging port for added convenience, as well as a Type 2 to Type 2 public charging cable.

Greater power and of course Audi’s legendary quattro all-wheel drive are hallmarks of the Q6 Sportback quattro. With electric motors on both front and rear axles it delivers a hefty 285kW of power and 580Nm of torque to the rear wheels and 275Nm to the front, for a sprint time to 100km/h of just 5.9 seconds as well as the surefooted feel of quattro drive.

Over and above the specification of the rear-drive model, the Q6 Sportback quattro also features an S line exterior package with S line bumpers with contrasting accents in dark selenite silver, S line badging and larger 21-inch alloy wheels.

The S line treatment also extends inside the cabin where the leather-appointed seats feature S embossing and contrasting stitching, a black headliner, stainless steel pedals and an S-specific multifunction steering wheel with flat top and bottom design as well as perforated leather sides.

Topping the range is the Audi SQ6 Sportback, combining tremendous performance and handling with exceptional levels of equipment and luxurious appointment.

With dual motors also providing drive to all four wheels, the SQ6 Sportback produces 360kW of power which can be increased to 380kW using the launch control for a 4.3 second sprint from 0 to 100km/h.

Its quattro all-wheel drive, coupled with standard adaptive air suspension delivers extraordinary ride and handling that will thrill performance aficionados, while its beautiful interior treatment and appointment provide uncompromising luxury.

Here, S-specific styling cues include matt aluminium and selenite silver accents, black metallic, gloss-turned finish 21-inch Audi Sport wheels, red brake callipers and an electrically opening panoramic sunroof.

State-of-the-art OLED rear lighting adds signature visibility for those vehicles following, as well as increased road presence, while acoustic glazing (front doors) and privacy glass enhance comfort and refinement for occupants.

The sumptuous cabin includes sport front seats plus in fine Nappa leather with massage function as well as electrically adjustable steering column, colour ambient lighting with dynamic interaction strip and an augmented reality head-up display that features special HUD games. The exceptional Bang & Olufsen 3D Premium Sound System is standard equipment, while enhanced USB charging ports (including 100W in the rear) are capable of charging larger items such as laptops.

As is the case with the Q6 SUV models, safety is a key component of these new additions to the range. In addition to a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, the Q6 Sportback models also feature a full complement of the brand’s advanced safety and driver assistance systems as standard equipment.

From nine airbags (including a front centre airbag) to Audi side assist, lane departure warning with emergency assist, these systems are at the very leading-edge in the industry. The offering also includes the likes of adaptive cruise control with stop and go, speed sign recognition, rear occupant recognition, as well as 360-degree cameras with kerb view, park assist plus and even tyre pressure monitoring.

All models within the Audi Q6 e-tron range come with six years Audi roadside assist, the peace-of-mind of a five-year warranty, and 12 years manufacturing warranty for bodywork against corrosion perforation for new vehicles, as well as an eight-year/160,000 km battery warranty. Six-year service plans are available for both models, priced at $2,080.

Audi owners also receive a complimentary membership during their warranty period to Audi Experience, Audi Australia's bespoke loyalty program that offers access to exclusive national events, intimate Audi Ambassador experiences and premium partner offers.
