Few artistic pursuits require the extraordinary blend of physical and mental mastery. Conveying both theatrical sensitivity and creating an in-depth character and compelling narrative through movement elevates ballet to an art like no other with The Australian Ballet recognised as one of the world's great companies.

The Australian Ballet’s production of Nijinsky, opening soon at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre is a triumph, showcasing the extraordinary talents of the company’s male dancers in a work by celebrated narrative ballet choreographer John Neumeier.

Nijinsky tells the story of the rise and ultimately the fall of the creative genius that was Vaslav Nijinsky – of a star that burned so brightly, challenging and redefining the art. This is both a celebration and a tragedy that seeks to explore the complex character whose work at its zenith attracted both adoring fans and caused riots in theatres in Paris.

Playing in Melbourne from February 21st through to March 1st, the production will then head to Sydney from the 4th to the 22nd of April at the Joan Sutherland theatre at Sydney Opera house. Audi Australia is proud to partner with The Australian Ballet on what is truly ‘a spectacular piece of theatre which celebrates a visionary dancer and choreographer who changed the ballet world forever’.
