Audi e-tron GT named Most Beautiful Car of the Year.

In its debut year, the Audi e-tron GT has added another award to its already growing stockpile, claiming the coveted Golden Steering Wheel for ‘Most Beautiful Car of the Year’.

Not even a year since its international unveiling, the Audi e-tron GT has claimed another prestigious award, winning the coveted Golden Steering Wheel as the Most Beautiful Car of the Year.

Now in their 45th year, the Golden Steering Wheel awards are amongst the oldest and most prestigious automotive awards in Europe, and are voted on by readers of of the motoring magazine Auto Bild and newspaper Bild am Sonntag as well as their counterparts across Europe. This year, more than 70 models across 12 categories competed for top honours, with the Audi brand’s all-electric supercar, the e-tron GT, declared the winner and named this year’s Most Beautiful Car.

Audi CEO, Markus Duesmann was present at the glittering ceremony in Berlin to receive the award, saying of the brand’s stunning electric model:

“In its design, the e-tron GT2 emphasises our claim as an automotive design brand. With its impressive performance, it offers the most emotional kind of electromobility. And with its sustainable concept, it expresses an attitude. The e-tron GT is our flagship model.” 

The Golden Steering Wheel award is the latest in what is becoming an impressive array of awards since the e-tron GT’s international debut in February this year. The all-electric grand tourer was also named German Car of the Year 2022 in the luxury category as well as taking top honours for ‘Best design innovation in the luxury class’ in this year’s Autonis awards, presented by respected automotive publication auto motor und sport. Indeed, the Audi e-tron GT was just one of three Audi all-electric models to win their respective categories at the Autonis awards, with electric siblings the Audi Q4 e-tron taking the ‘Compact Offroad/SUV’ category and the Audi e-tron Sportback claiming victory in the ‘Large Offroad/SUV’ class.
