An artistic experience fit for the digital age and inspired by an Audi creation very much focused on the future – Audi and artist Andrés Reisinger collaborate in Miami.

2 December, 2022

Inspired by the Audi grandsphere concept, a unique digital artwork created by celebrated Argentinian artist and designer Andrés Reisinger will be a major feature at this year’s Design Miami/. One of the big design exhibitions of the year, it will be the fourth that Audi has visited in 2022 although the brand is no stranger to the US design forum.

For Design Miami/ this year (and yes, the forward slash is part of the name) Audi has not only become the exclusive partner of the show but will also be an exhibitor with its own installation featuring original digital art by Andrés Reisinger.

The Argentinian artists, currently based in Barcelona is one of the most sought-after digital artists of the 21st Century, known for his work that often combines the digital and physical spaces. His work has been shown all over the world and is highly sought after by collectors so it is quite a coup to have his work – directly inspired by one of Audi’s automotive artworks – as a quintessential part of the brand’s presence in Miami.

Audi has long been a dedicated supporter of international design exhibitions and the brand’s association with the celebrated design spectacular in Miami goes back years. Indeed Audi chose Design Miami/ to premiere the new A8 in 2009 as well as the Prologue in 2014 and the TT was featured in another installation at the event. So the presence of the Audi grand sphere concept was a continuation of a long association and indeed tradition for the brand.

The Audi grandsphere concept provided the inspiration.
Andrés Reisinger created the first digital art work for the brand.

The artwork mirrors Audi’s desire to create new high-class experiences as part of vehicle interiors of the future, made possible through the advancing digitalisation and technology. The inspiration, in this case the Audi grandsphere is the perfect example of where the brand sees interiors of tomorrow going, with a space that has multiple uses over and above the traditional idea of a cabin in which to see while travelling from one location to the next. The space, architecture and features are shaped by the driver’s needs and desires and it is exactly this personal sphere that Reisinger replicated with his artwork, translating the immersive experiential world of the Audi grandsphere concept into his virtual world of architecture and colour.

Reisinger has created a seemingly surreal scope that transcends the boundaries between realism and fiction, depicting the expanded reality that surrounds the passengers in the concept car.

“Audi believes in working together with like-minded people to create meaningful and fascinating experiences that will shape premium mobility and design,” says Audi’s Head of Design, Henrik Wenders.

"Together with Andrés Reisinger we will explore a sphere beyond a physical installation, digitally re-interpreting interior design.”
