The second major Audi Foundation fundraiser has been announced, with an Audi SQ5 worth $125,000 on offer to the lucky winner. This is the second such raffle for the Audi Foundation which was launched just last year.
Designed to help those in need in the communities around Australia in which the brand operates, the Foundation has already achieved tremendous results in its first year, assisting over half a million people through its support of selected charitable organisations.
The Audi Foundation was established by Audi Australia as corporate philanthropic foundation, with additional ongoing support from the Audi national dealer network. A way of giving back to the community at large which has embraced the Audi brand here in Australia, it operates by supporting selected charities through a grants system, building long-term associations with those not-for-profit organisations and allowing them to undertake long-term assistance strategies – a system proven to produce significantly better outcomes for more individuals.
The areas targeted by Audi Foundation for assistance are varied, but each charity working with the Foundation shares the brand’s core beliefs and has a proven track record of success. Each is a registered not-for-profit organisation in their own right and is recognised as a leader in their respective area. The exhaustive process of deciding on the initial partnerships was undertaken by the Audi Foundation board after reviewing countless submissions made by charities around Australia. At the end of the process, eight charities were selected and long-term partnerships formed – the results in just over a year have been extraordinary.
“The Audi Foundation has achieved some outstanding results in just its first year of operation,” says Anna Burgdorf, Audi Foundation board member. “Through fundraising initiatives like this, we can continue to make a positive difference to individuals and communities around the country,” she said.
"The Foundation has already achieved tremendous results in its first year, assisting over half a million people through its support of selected charitable organisations."
"This raffle will raise funds to continue the work of the foundation through its partners and make a tangible difference to those who need it most."
With more than half a million people directly assisted through programs supported by Audi Foundation, the results are encouraging, but are just the beginning says Anna Burgdorf.
Some have been high profile like the ROUK Conversation Convoy, which saw four yellow Audi Q7s travel 14,000km around the country encouraging people to start a conversation they could save a life. Others were less visible, but no less effective.
Through the Foundation’s association with the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, 3500 families were given access to essential medical equipment, while the support of the Country Education Foundation Australia saw 50 scholarships awarded to rural and regional students facing hardships.
The invaluable work of Camp Quality and their exceptional puppet program in schools touched children around the country, helping to destigmatize cancer and help young people and their families battle the disease.
Through its partnership with The Smith Family, the Audi Foundation helps promote and expand the Work Inspiration program, with groups of young people exposed to a whole world of job opportunities they would otherwise never have known exist.
Working with the ReachOut organisation, a pioneer in the online support of those suffering mental illness issues, launched a new website designed for mobile and tablet use – directly assisting 320,000 young Australians and helping them access ongoing support.
The stories go on, but so too does the need for continued support of those in need, which is where the SQ5 comes in. Following on from the Audi Foundation’s first major fundraiser at launch, this raffle will raise funds to continue the work of the foundation through its partners and make a tangible difference to those who need it most.
It's easy to enter and though that $50 per ticket may not seem like much, the difference it will make is significant. So too is the outcome for one lucky winner, whose participation could see them drive away in the Audi SQ5.
