It is the most successful Audi SUV in Australian history and one of the most successful luxury SUVs internationally. Now, the Audi Q5 range has been further refined to offer greater standard equipment right across the range.

Since its first appearance in 2009, the Audi Q5 has set the standard for luxury mid-sized SUVs both here and around the globe, selling 24,000 units Down Under and an extraordinary 1.6 million worldwide.

With the arrival of the current model in 2017, expectations were high, but again the Q5 has delivered across its range and with a raft of new standard equipment being offered, the bar has been raised yet again.

The new equipment inclusions have been shaped by the most popular offerings chosen by Q5 owners, adding greater value to this award-winning vehicle.

“We had an opportunity to further improve the Q5 and SQ5 as a package, and so we looked at our customers’ priorities to help shape how we achieved that. We think owners will be delighted with our new offer – the Audi Q5 and SQ5 have never been stronger,” says Shawn Ticehurst, Product Planning and Pricing Director at Audi Australia.

The new equipment covers the entire Q5 range, including all five Q5 models and the high-performance Audi SQ5 TFSI.

New equipment is across both the exterior and interior of the range

All Q5 models, including the SQ5 now come with Audi phone box light wireless smartphone charging, as well as 2x USB charging ports for rear-seat passengers.

New 19-inch alloy wheel in a dynamic two-tone design are standard, as is MMI navigation plus with MMI Touch, Audi active lane assist and high beam assist as standard equipment.

But while standard equipment has been significantly increased across the board, pricing* has been made even keener, with the design models – the 140kW Q5 40 TDI quattro offered at $65,900 and its petrol sibling, the Q5 45 TFSI quattro (185kW) at $66,900. With their seven-speed S ironic transmission and power down through the latest version of Audi’s famed quattro system, these models see off the sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 7.9 and 6.3 seconds respectively, while the occupants remain cocooned in a luxurious interior with state-of-the art infotainment and connectivity.

Likewise the Q5 40 TDI quattro sport ($71,600) and Q5 45 TFSI quattro sport ($73,500) deliver the same high levels of performance but now also boast the expansive panoramic glass sunroof as included equipment, as well as the parking assistance package (with 360-degree camera) and auto-dimming exterior mirrors, along with heated front seats and driver’s seat memory function.

The Q5 50 TDI sport at $84,700 also gains the panoramic glass sunroof, in addition to the striking S line exterior package and sumptuous Milano leather upholstery. With its six-cylinder powerplant producing 210kW and an enormous 620Nm of torque available from just 1500rpm, the Q5 50 TDI quattro sport races to 100km/h in 5.8 seconds, yet still delivers fuel consumption of 6.3L/100km.

At the top end of the range, the SQ5 TFSI at $99,900 features up to $10,000 worth of additional value, with external additions including metallic paint as standard, along with a glass panoramic sunroof. Inside, the sublime Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system becomes standard equipment in addition to a head up display, extended upholstery package and variable front-seat head restraints with fore-aft adjustment.

With its six-cylinder petrol engine producing 260kW of power and 500Nm of torque, eight-speed tiptronic transmission and quattro, the SQ5 TFSI offers scintillating performance. The race to 100km/h is over in a mere 5.4 seconds on the way to governed top speed of 250km/h, yet the SQ5 does it all so effortlessly, and with such style, its popularity in the performance SUV stakes comes as no surprise.

The entire Audi Q5 range is in Australia and available to test drive now.
