Expect to be blown away, with familiar faces and new characters thrust into the frame as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, is called on to step up big time

Just when you thought you’d caught your breath after Avengers: Endgame, it’s time to buckle in for the 23rd film in the Marvel Universe, with Spider-Man taking centre stage.

When Spider-Man Far From Home hits Australian cinemas on July 1, expect to be blown away, with familiar faces and new characters thrust into the frame as Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, is called on to step up big time, when all he wanted was a quiet holiday to Europe with his school friends.

We won’t delve too deeply into the plot line here for those of you who haven’t seen the latest Avengers blockbuster yet, as there are some serious spoilers. But Peter Parker’s school trip to Europe gets turned on its head, dragged through multiple universes and then turned on its head again when Nick Fury – once again played by Samuel L. Jackson – enlists his help to battle a new menace to the world population.

Tom Holland wears the famous suit for his second major Spider-Man feature, indeed he gets out in more than one variant of the arachnid-inspired suit as he and Marvel newcomer (on the big screen at least), Mysterio, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, team up in this epic adventure.

Audi is once again right in the thick of the action, with the Audi e-tron, Q8 and A7 models all playing their part in this latest Marvel/Sony blockbuster as well as other models scattered here and there for those with a keen eye. Audi’s association with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and indeed with major film productions generally is well known. For many years the brand has lent its support to a broad range of major film productions, whether that be supplying vehicles for the film or even developing completely new concept vehicles for the production.

Even before Spider-Man hits the big screen in this latest blockbuster, Peter Parker enlists the help of some friends in high places to get his hands on another very special Audi vehicle – the Audi e-tron GT concept.

This is not so much for his immediate transport needs as to help he and his friend Ned when the competition at their school science fair looks to be more challenging than they’d anticipated. Even for a superhero, it’s sometimes not just what you can do or what you know, but who you know.

Filmed in New York, London, Italy and the Czech Republic, Spider-Man Far From Home takes the friendly neighbourhood Spider-man into all new, international territory. It’s time for Spider-man to step up and take a central role in the Marvel universe, and Spidey delivers big time.
