Hailed as a masterpiece of automotive design since the first concept study first captured international attention in 1995, the sporting allure of the Audi TT models continue to thrill motoring aficionados around the world.
This month, the latest incarnation of the brand’s iconic sportscar has arrived Down Under, bringing with it a sharper, more contemporary realisation of the iconic design and a wealth of new luxury appointment and cutting-edge automotive technology.
There’s no mistaking the origins of the latest Audi TT models, but the face is obviously sharper and more aggressive – the new Audi design language incorporated into the new design most notably with the three-dimensional Singeframe grille.
Purposeful and beautifully proportioned, the new Audi TT is a timeless classic and is every inch the driver’s car. The Audi TT 45 TFSI quattro will spearhead the Australian offering, with its 2.0 TFSI powerplant producing 169kW and 370Nm of torque, for a 0 to 100km/h time of 5.3 seconds. Also available in Australia is the Audi TTS, which adds the famed Audi ’S’ treatment and produces 210kW and 380Nm of torque from right down in the rev range from its 2.0 TFSI powerplant to dispatch 0 to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds.

The new TT models deliver a wealth of new luxury appointment and standard equipment over the previous models
Both models use Audi’s six-speed S tonic transmission and of course put their power down to the road with quattro all-wheel drive as standard.
The result is a vehicle that delivers on the promise made by its sporty styling and will delight the performance enthusiast at every turn – literally.
The new TT models also deliver a wealth of new luxury appointment and standard equipment over the previous models. Arriving priced at $70,999*, the TT 45 TFSI quattro boasts more than $5000 worth of additional standard equipment over the previous model. New standard additions include LED headlights with dynamic rear indicators, auto-folding exterior mirrors and Audi phone box and wireless smartphone charging.
The TT 45 TFSI quattro also includes the very latest in driver assistance and safety technology, with Audi side assist, Audi active lane assist, Audi parking system plus, progressive steering and cruise con tool with speed limiter all standard equipment.
The Audi TTS also impresses with its array of standard inclusions, arriving at $99,900* and with more than $8,500 worth of additional features over the previous generation.
From the extraordinary Bang and Olufsen sound system with its 12 speakers and 680W output, to distinctive red calipers on its big 19-inch alloys wheels to the heated front seats in fine Nappa upholstery – all is standard equipment on the new TTS.
For those looking to further customise their vehicle, two packages are also available. The S line sport package – available from $7,990 on the TT 45 TFSI quattro – includes the S line exterior sport package, S sport front seats, aluminium interior accents, as well as the Audi premium sound system. For the TTS there is the S performance package at $4,900, which includes Matrix LED headlights, black high-gloss exterior accents, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, park assist and an extended leather package.
But despite the cutting-edge equipment and performance of the new Audi TT models, they remain true to the timeless concept that launched the Audi TT name. Details like the race-inspired fuel filler remain, and the minimalist ‘cockpit’ interior draws on the principles of the models before, yet deliver a distinctive, contemporary finish.
The Audi TT and TTS inspire anew but remain true to their origins – the iconic Audi sportscar legacy is in safe hands.
