A record year for Audi customer racing in global competition.

Nearly 300 race victories and some 87 titles fell to Audi Sport customer racing teams this year, making 2023 a record year for the brand.

Audi Sport customer racing set another record in 2023 competing in a total of 876 races globally and bringing home 87 titles across all four of the categories it contests. In its 15th year of global competition the brand’s customer racing program was right in the thick of competition once again with its RS3 LMS cars in TCR competitions around the world as well as the all-conquering R8 LMS in GT3, GT4 and GT2 categories.

The total was well up on the 806 races contested in 2022 and with 87 titles won, the brand achieved yet another milestone in international motorsport.

“What Audi Sport customer racing achieved with and for its customers was once again first-class,” said Head of Audi Motorsport Rolf Michl. “Our thanks go to all these teams and their drivers as well as to our drivers who supported the customers in prestigious programs and achieved so many successes.”

Rounding out the year’s competition, the RS 3 LMS claimed its third TCR Model of the year award from the governing body of the TCR category worldwide, capping off a stellar season for the brand’s sports sedan which continues to dominate wherever it is campaigned, winning 111 of 331 races in 2023 as well as five drivers titles and 22 other classes.

In the R8 LMS GT4 category which effectively serves as the entry to the GT classes, the Audi R8 GT4 claimed 66 victories in 196 races and a total of five titles, while the powerful GT2 cars which are based on the R8 Spyder, won nine of 29 races in its limited race series.

The R8 LMS GT3 again showed why it is one of the world’s most revered GT3 cars, adding another 111 victories to its growing tally, contesting 320 races in 2023. That tally included Liam Talbot’s victory in the Australian GT Championship, a competition where Audi enjoy’s an enviable record.

It was another dominant performance by Audi Sport customer racing in a program that has enjoyed tremendous success since its inception in 2009. In that time the brand has claimed a staggering 489 titles in overall or class rankings as well as 16 victories in 24-hour races worldwide.

While the 2023 season marked the end of Audi Sport customer racing’s strategic commitments as they currently stand, many customers will continue to rely on the products and services of Audi Sport customer racing in global categories well into the future, including an impressive contingent bound for the 2024 Repco Bathurst 12-Hour which will run from the 16th to the 18th of February 2024.
