Celebrating 40 years since quattro first appeared on the scene, the new Audi A3 Sportback heralds in a new era for the brand – televised live tonight.
3 March, 2020
The car that literally created the compact, luxury segment, the Audi A3, enters a new phase tonight with the international unveiling of the fourth generation model.
Bringing the technologies and luxury appointment of the larger models to the compact segment has been a central part of the A3 philosophy since the first model first made its appearance in 1996. Since then, more than five million vehicles have been sold worldwide, making the Audi A3 (in all its incarnations) fittingly the most successful model in that very segment it created.
For this, the fourth generation of the model, Audi will con tin to imbue the compact powerhouse with the very latest technology, which, in keeping with the brand’s direction, will include electrification.
“Plug-in-hybrid models are a central element in our electric offensive,” says Bram Schot, Chairman of the Audi Board of Management.
“We are offering a mild-hybrid and a plug-in-hybrid version of the A3 this year. This means that systematic electrification of our model range has now reached the compact class as well.”
For a first look at the new Audi A3 Sportback and some other exciting new Audi machinery, tune in to www.audimedia.tv or go to the Audi Australia Facebook page tonight at 7:50pm to watch as the dust covers come off a new generation of Audi.
