Always a wonderful place to explore for those visiting Audi headquarters in Ingolstadt, the Audi Museum Mobile is hosting a very special exhibition of Grand Prix greats ahead of the brand’s debut in Formula 1 in just a matter of months.

Entitled ‘Legends of Grands Prix’, the exhibition in the grand, circular museum building runs from now until March 8, 2026 – the very date the Audi Revolut F1 Team will take to the track in Melbourne for its first historic race.

The exhibition traces the origins of Grand Prix racing and brings together a collection of 16 vehicles from different periods and includes such rarities as the Renault AK 90 CV, through to Auto Union Type A, C and D models, as well as Michael Schumacher’s first Formula 1 car, Ayrton Senna’s Toleman-Hart and vehicles from Sauber, Bugatti, Jordan and NSU to name just some.

Back to the beginning – Renault AK 90 CV from 1906.
Michael Schumacher’s first Formula 1 car, a 1991 Jordan 191.
Ayrton Senna's Toleman-Hart TG184 from 1984.

“With our special exhibition, ‘Legends of Grand Prix’, we want to shorten the winter break in Formula 1 for all fans and present many spectacular exhibits from the history of motorsport’s premier class until the first race of the new season,” says Stefan Trauf, Head of Audi Tradition.

The exhibition goes back to the early Grand Prix era and then through the period of the Auto Union Silver Arrows and the 75-year history of Formula 1 from the early post-war racing cars to the present day.

Each carefully selected exhibit is a standout in its own right, capturing a moment in motorsport history. While Audi aficionados will know of the brand’s origins in Grand Prix racing dating back to the 1920s when pillar brand, NSU, was at the top of Grand Prix racing, through to the enormous successes of the Auto Union Silver Arrows in the 1930s.

The NSU 6/60 PS – the first six-cylinder model from Neckarsulm.

One such highlight is the NSU 6/60 PS, the first six-cylinder model from Neckarsulm with its 60 horsepower and 175km/h top speed way back in 1926. Almost 100 years ago, on July 11, 1926, NSU celebrated a highly acclaimed quadruple victory in the 1.5-litre class at the first German Grand Prix at the AVUS with its all-white racing car.

Other standouts include the Bugatti Type 35 C, a Cisitalia 360 from 1947 and a Talbot-Lago T26 C. The two most recent models, the Sauber C31 from 2012 and the F1 show car with Audi Launch Livery from 2022, bring the exhibition right up to the modern day and ready for the next Grand Prix chapter to be written in just a matter of months.
